He established the company back in 2005, and what started as a small venture turned into a large hotel chain. In 2017 he earned the title Entrepreneur of the Year from the Isto É Dinheiro’s publication, as a result of his work for GJP. Paulus spent about $600 million in order to build new hotels throughout the country, and the rapid expansion has been responsible for employing approximately 1,900 Brazilians. Despite playing an important role in both companies, Guilherme Paulus still takes 2-3 days out of his week to visit GJP hotels in order to talk to clients and employees and understand their needs.
