During the week of February 12-17, SKOUT, the largest platform for meeting new people in the world, celebrated “National Potato Chip Day”, which was on March 14th, with an interesting survey. They conducted a survey among 3,046 of its users, which spanned across the entire United States, to see what their favorite potato chip flavor is and what exactly it reveals about them and their personalities.
According to the survey, 96% of the app’s users who took the survey said that they like potato chips. When it comes to the most popular potato chip flavor in terms of having the most friends, 42% of users that stated they enjoyed citrus flavored chips, such as Lime, have at least 5 friends in their social circle.
The app also asked questions in relation to politics, exercise routine and even sex life! For example, 28% of people who indicated they eat plain potato chips also stated they don’t exercise, while 14% who stated they enjoyed no/low salt chips the best work out at the gym every single day. 47% of users who stated they enjoy a more spicy flavored style of chip were revealed to be more adventurous in the bedroom, while 19% of Lime/Citrus flavor lovers stated they have sex at least one a day.
As far as politics is concerned, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is more popular with people who prefer BBQ style chips, while 57% of the survey takers would rather share a bag of chips with Hilary Clinton over Bernie Sanders.
Along with the survey, SKOUT partnered up with the San Francisco based nonprofit SF-Marin Food Bank to give back to the community. On “National Potato Chip Day”, users of SKOUT could give other users a virtual potato chip sticker. For each sticker given, SKOUT vowed to make a cash donation to the food bank until their goal of helping 200,000 people who are facing hunger is met.
